Designer 5 unsure about Kalki dated 2898 AD: ‘Sri Yaskin is an evil form of Krishna’
In a recent interview, production designer Nitin Zihani Choudary revealed new details about Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD.
On June 27 of this year, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD was made available. Based on the stories of Ashwatthama and Kali Yug, the film starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.

There are seven complexes worldwide:
The Complex, an abundantly resourced inverted pyramid structure headed by Kamal’s Supreme Yaskin, is depicted in Kalki 2898 AD and is located in Kashi. Six more of these Complexes exist in Africa, Europe, America, and other regions, according to Nitin. In addition, he said that each Complex has a Yaskin in charge.
Supreme Yaskin is not Kali:
While many thought that Supreme Yaskin might be the personification of Kali, Nithin claimed that he was not Kali. He and the other Yaskins, in fact, report to Kali. The production designer also claimed that while the filmmakers haven’t figured out Kali’s appearance yet, ‘maybe he’s just a projection of Yaskin; he’s very abstract,’ he concluded.

Nitin remarked, “You notice similarities between them, and the ending hints at that.”
Ultimate Yaskin’s body is covered in glowing internal cracks. Additionally, he uses pipes that are inserted into his body to breathe. The character was described by Nitin as “old, fragile, rotten inside, yet powerful.” Additionally, he said that Yaskin becomes enlightened “inside” because “he’s just a shell” outside.
The world in Kalki 2898 AD is flipped upside down.
In mythology, the good forces are typically thought to reside in the heavens and the bad forces, beneath the earth. However, Nitin clarified that the world is currently upside down because it is Kali Yug. He remarked, “You have a powerful statue that raises the evil guys to heaven while the gods, like Ashwatthama, live underground.”
