A first look in the run-up to Saif Ali Khan’s birthday was shared for his character in the upcoming film Devara, in which he would be essaying the film’s primary antagonist, angry Bhaira.
First things first. Happy birthday, Saif Ali Khan! On this 54th birthday of Saif, filmmakers of the pan-India film Devara: Part 1 gave fans an electrifying look at the actor’s character in the film. The high-octane look of Saif Ali Khan as Bhaira immediately grabbed the attention of the netizens who appreciated this raw, fresh look of Saif. Khan plays the title role of the film—main villain or antagonist—in this action thriller. He’s angry, mostly and all of his iconic antagonistic characters have one feel. Which he began alongside with his phenomenal act in Omkara as Langda Tyagi, which continued through and played more unsavory characters in Tanhaji and then in Adipurush.
Friday morning saw makers of Devara and Jr NTR take to their social media handles to hint at a special present for Saif Ali Khan as they announced the arrival of his first look to mark the occasion. As promised, the makers of Devara unveiled a thrilling glimpse of his character Bhaira along with a poster and a 52-second action-packed video, thereby sharing a glimpse of not just the actor but the extensive set of the film on which Devara is mounted.
The creators shared the clip on August 16 on the social media platform X, aka Twitter, with the caption, “His Presence is a Celebration of Havoc. The HUNT will be more brutal than ever.” The 52-second clip showcases the actor in two intense avatars, from Saif hunting in a jam-packed wrestling arena to his long-haired look as he is shown in a relentless chase sequence through dense forests. While one can understand the eagerness of the fans to get a glimpse of this raw and commanding avatar of the actor, they are equally keen to get this hard-guarded look at his fierce, ruthless avatar on this special day.
For the unversed, Devara marks the Telugu debut of not just Saif Ali Khan but Janhvi Kapoor as well. Kortala Siva handles direction; the film has coastal life as its backdrop and is envisioned as a commercial action drama mounted on a heavily mounted budget with an ensemble supporting cast. It is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, while presentation is by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The film will be released in two parts; the first one, that is, Devara: Part 1 is slated for a September 27 release simultaneously in multiple languages, including Hindi.
Saif Ali Khan’s fiery performance
NTR Arts dropped a short video showing off a rather intense Saif Ali Khan. He looked all ready for action, and his looks were enough to deliver the message. His clenched fists were pretty sure a hint at what was going to follow next. He dominates the screen in Bhaira, and leaves no doubt at all that this would be one more classic performance from Saif Ali Khan. Anirudh’s dramatic soundtrack raises the impact of this peek and heightens interest.
Telugu Debut for Saif and Janhvi
Devara is the Telugu film debut of Saif and Janhvi. This movie will mark Saif Ali Khan’s first time in a Telugu film. The plot and action sequences of the movie have raised justified expectations. Koratala Siva is the director of the movie, and earlier, it was reported to be released on Eid 2024. Now, it seems like the release date has been pre-poned as the remaining work includes VFX. This is good news because the wait is finally getting over.
The movie will now release on September 27, 2024. But, hold on. The catch is, it will be clashing at the box office with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra.Alia and Vedang Raina will star as siblings in the upcoming film, which means box office battle of the giants. There is just about one thing which seems a near-certainty. Saif Ali Khan will bring home the bacon whenever the film releases.
