Recently, Bollywood actor Esha Deol disclosed information regarding the limitations she faces at home when she is having menstruation. These limitations include the inability to do certain things. Even though Esha was surrounded by influential women when she was growing up, she claimed that there were no open conversations about menstruation during her youth. It was her intention to convey this knowledge to the audience.
She was brought up in a household that was dominated by women, and Esha, who is the daughter of the famed actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra, was raised in such environment. A number of women, including her grandmother Jaya Chakravarthy and her great aunt, contributed to the management of the household while she was growing up. The actor disclosed this information in an interview with Hauterfly.
“We were not permitted to go to the temple and pray,” as the actor explained. Once you have done washing your hair, you will be able to pray then. When it is finished, you will be allowed to pray. It is merely the technique that is considered to be traditional, and I stick to it. In the event that that is a component of the residence in which you reside, I will respect that for you as well.
Esha also noted that she was expected to follow a curriculum in school, and that this program presented her with opportunities to learn about education. It was while I was attending school that I began to become aware of it. Our school provided sexuality education, and it was done in a manner that was not only efficient but also within the appropriate time frame. Additionally, it is of great importance. In her statement, she mentioned that there are a few parents who have sentiments of embarrassment and shyness for their children.
As part of the same interview, Esha shared her memories of her youth spent with her family. Her grandmother was quite strict, and she remembers the limitations that were placed on her. For example, she was not allowed to wear spaghetti straps or short skirts when she participated in public activities. She also remembers the restrictions that were placed on her.
My grandmother was the person who was in charge of the home’s security camera during that period. As soon as my friends and I entered the house, my grandmother would be watching television, and she would be able to see who was coming and going via her spectacles. She would be able to know who was arriving and going. In addition to that, when my friends came to see me, they would come wearing whatever they wanted inside, but on top of that, they would wear a shirt, and then they would remove it once they entered my room. She disclosed that staying up late was a violation of the strictest of rules.
She also acted alongside Suniel Shetty, Barkha Bisht, and Rahul Dev in the film Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega, which was Esha Deol’s most recent film appearance. Another actor who appeared in the film was Rahul Dev.
