Kangana Ranaut slams violence in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, at variance with law and order

Kangana Ranaut lashes out at Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal for promoting violence, being oblivious to the law of the land: Kangana Ranaut has lashed out at the commercially successful patriarchal films that encourage violence in society.

In a recent promotional interview for her upcoming directorial Emergency, the actor blasted Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s blockbuster family crime drama Animal from last year, which had featured Ranbir Kapoor as a violent, revengeful criminal.

What Kangana said:

Abhi bhi jis tarah ki filmein aap dekh lijiye. Box office pe kya bawaal machati hain patriarchal filmein. Oh ho ho ho.

Dekh ke lagta hai kahan se nikal rahe hain ye log taaliyan, seetiyan maarne. Kulhadi le ke agar ladke nikle, aur khoono ko mar kaat sirf kulhadi le ke nikle hue hain. Na unko koi law and order poochh raha hai.”.

                     What Kangana said

The way ke, schools mein jate hain, le ke machine guns. They take machine guns like they’re going to schools.

Jaise ki wo koi police hai hi nai, jaise ki uske consequences hain hi nai.

As if there were no law and order, tell me. Khoon khoon karte hain, lashon ke dher bhar gaye hain. Kyun? Chhaayi hui hai masti hawaon mein.

Because they have spread the wind of their glory. Wo lok kalyan ke liye hai nahi, na wo sarhadon ke liye hai, na wo jan kalyan. Bas masti mein, mast hain.

Bas drugs kar ke mast hain. Just to see the kind of patriarchal films that still rattle a storm at the box office. I wonder where these people who are clapping and whistling are coming from. Men are out with axes and indulging in bloodshed and violence.

There’s no law and order stopping them. They enter schools with machine guns as if there’s no police, there are no consequences. As if the law and order is dead.

They’re just piling dead bodies. And why? Just for fun. It’s not for public welfare or protection of borders. Only for fun. They just take drugs and have fun),” Kangana said.

Kangana’s previous comments on Animal:

After Animal went through the roof last year, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had come forward to say that he’d love to collaborate with Kangana one day.

However, Kangana had rejected the offer saying, “Please don’t ever give me any role otherwise your alpha male heroes will become feminist and then your films will also be beaten, you make blockbusters, the film industry needs you.”

Kangana will be next seen in Emergency, slated to release in cinemas on September 6.

Kangana Ranaut was speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, who thinks that the concept of “alpha male” has been oscillating in many peoples minds with the hit of ‘Animal’.

She said, “People resort to being an alpha male to fool others with their wrong deeds. Such actions may make people enjoy themselves for some time, but they will fall face down.

When you don’t have an understanding of something, you want to exploit that… If you are an alpha male then why are you being Raavan? Be Ram.”

Kangana Ranaut On Showing Violence On Screen:

Kangana further said, “Law and order hai hi nahi, laasho ke dher hain”, referring to the amount of violence shown in the series and the responsibility it carries.

Finally, Kangana reiterated the need to oppose and hold films that promote these ideas responsible. She explained that the media must be responsible to show how violence presented in movies will take terrible turns in reality.
