A crackdown on YouTubers has been implemented by the Movie Artists Association, which is led by Vishnu Manchu, in response to the arrest of Praneeth Hanumanthu for making jokes about the abuse of children.
The Movie Artists Association (MAA), which is led by Vishnu Manchu as its president, has taken significant action against a number of YouTube channels that have posted content that is considered to be offensive. A YouTuber named Praneeth Hanumanthu was recently taken into custody for making jokes regarding child abuse during a live session. These jokes attracted the attention of a number of celebrities from the Tollywood industry. After Sai Dharam Tej’s tweet, a First Information Report was made against a YouTuber for making a “pedophilia joke.” Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith also called him out on his behavior.
A total of 23 channels have been disabled.
Up to this point, the MAA organization has blocked 23 YouTube channels for disseminating content that is considered to be regressive. This month, they sent a message on X, which was once known as Twitter, stating, “The crackdown has begun.” There have been five YouTube channels that have been taken down because they posted offensive comments about actors, their families, and attacked individuals personally. Here we are just getting started. At the same time as we take more actions, we will continue to update the list.
In a tweet that was distributed on Wednesday afternoon, they announced that they had terminated 18 more YouTube channels that were of this type and made a list of them available to the public. A portion of what they wrote is presented in the following excerpt: “As part of our ongoing efforts to terminate the YouTube channels that have posted derogatory content on our artists.” As a result of our actions, an additional 18 channels that were responsible for the dissemination of harmful content have been taken down. When you return, make sure to look for any subsequent updates.
The news came just a few days after Praneeth was taken into custody and Vishnu made a ‘appeal’ to YouTubers to remove content that was nasty.
Statements made by Vishnu Manchu
Vishnu praised Sai Dharam Tej for bringing the matter to the forefront of public attention in a video that he posted on his Instagram account on July 10th. He stated, “There are some Telugu people who are acting in a terrible manner online, which is bringing us a bad name.” The questioning of Hanumantu was done by Sai Dharam Tej a few days ago. The video was so repulsive that even the chief medical officer and the authorities replied to it. Why would someone act in such a disgusting manner?
In addition to pointing out the individuals who were responsible for the video, Vishnu disclosed that MAA had received a “numerous complaints” regarding channels that were similar. With that, he concluded the video. “Under the cover of black humor, people talk about heroines and husbands of performers in a manner that is quite offensive. I am making a request to everyone who creates movies of this nature to remove them within the next 48 hours. In the event that they do not, we will take action, report it to YouTube, file a complaint with Cybersecurity, and resort to legal action in order to prohibit your channel. I am making a request to the authorities in Telangana and AP to assist us in this matter.
When did it begin?
During a live session that was conducted by Praneeth and a number of other YouTubers, they responded to an Instagram post by making inappropriate remarks about the bond that exists between a father and a little daughter. It was the actor Sai who was the first person from the Tollywood industry to take note of Praneeth and call him out for the video. A large number of actors, including Nara Rohith, Sudheer Babu, Karthikeya, and Manchu Manoj, responded to the video and reported it to the authorities, which ultimately led to Praneeth’s incarceration.
