Recently, filmmaker Kiran Rao revealed some thoughts into her divorce from Aamir Khan. She stated that she understood the importance of personal space and the development of one’s own identity. Rao mentioned that Aamir’s understanding and support were helpful to her during the process while she was being questioned about her concerns over the procedure during an interview.
During her conversation with Brut, Kiran Rao responded to the inquiry inquired about her apprehension of divorce by stating, “I did not fear divorce.” On account of the fact that I took my sweet time about it, I did not have any concerns about it. As two humans, Aamir and I showed a great deal of strength. Not only do we have a strong connection to one another, but we also love and respect one another very sincerely. That is something that has not altered, which is why I was not concerned about it. “I was aware that I required my own space, and I desired to live self-sufficiently because I believed that it would be beneficial for my own development. She continued by saying, “The thing that we don’t talk about enough is how marriage has a tendency to stifle life, particularly for women.” It is my opinion that there is something in it that is open to dispute and discussion, and that is how you may possibly find a way to be more yourself within it. We were living in groups when we were apes, and this nuclear family structure is a source of strain. This pressure is typically placed on women since there is a great deal of duty placed on the woman to care for the home and to maintain the cohesiveness of the family.
