Manohar Joshi, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has died at the age of 86.

On this day, Friday, February 23, Manohar Joshi, who had previously served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, passed away at the age of 86. According to sources inside the family, the former Speaker of the Lok Sabha was admitted to PD Hinduja Hospital on February 21 after experiencing a heart arrest. He passed away at the private medical facility, as reported by the Pakistan Telecommunications Institute (PTI). After experiencing a brain hemorrhage, the Shiv Sena leader was hospitalized to the same Hinduja Hospital in May of the previous year because of his condition.

The funeral will take place later in the day at the Dadar Shivaji Park Crematorium, according to sources within the family who spoke to ANI. Honors from the state will be present.

Unmesh, his son, stated in an interview with Hindustan Times that his father had been admitted to the intensive care unit and was being monitored there. Wednesday, he experienced problems with his heart. He experienced continued health problems that were related to his age. We shall be performing the final rituals at the Shivaji Park crematorium; but, prior to this, the lifeless remains will be taken to our home in Matunga.

Earlier, the hospital had published a statement regarding Joshi’s presence in the intensive care unit. On the 21st of February 2024, Mr. Manohar Joshi, who had previously served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was admitted to the P.D. Hinduja Hospital. He is terribly ill as a result of a cardiac incident that he had. At this time, he is being closely monitored in the intensive care unit (ICU), where he is also receiving advanced medical care and therapy.

Joshi has made a significant contribution to society, politics, and the field of education, according to Devendra Fadnavis, who is the Deputy Chief Minister. During his time in India, Joshi served in the Legislative Council, Assembly, Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha, among other legislative bodies. After serving as a corporator and mayor of Mumbai, he eventually became the chief minister of the city and a member of Parliament. According to Fadnavis, “He was a disciplinarian not only in his private life but also in his public life.”

According to Sharad Pawar, a former minister of the Union and the founder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Joshi was recognized in political circles as a simple leader who worked hard to get things done. He stated, “It is a great tragedy that Manohar Joshi has passed away.” His strong work attitude and outspokenness earned him a reputation in the political circles for which he was renowned. It was well known that Manohar Joshi was a comrade of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray who was held in extremely high esteem.
During the time that he was serving as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, he made sure that everyone was on board and worked diligently to advance the state’s growth. An equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was installed on the premises of the Parliament while he was serving as Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
