PM Modi emphasizes the importance of an education system based on Indian values.

In a statement made on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the current situation calls for an education system that is firmly based in Indian principles. Through the use of video conferencing, he was delivering a speech at an event that was held to honor the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj. The event was held at Tankara, which is located in the Morbi region of Gujarat.

A social reformer who called for Indian culture to return to the Vedas during a time when people were entangled in slavery and superstitions that prevalent throughout the nation was commended by Prime Minister Modi. It was during this time that the Vedas appeared.

Currently, there is a pressing need for an educational system that is founded on Indian ideals. In this regard, Arya Samaj schools have served as a focal point. By means of the National Education Policy, the nation is currently working to broaden its scope. The obligation of connecting people with these initiatives is on our shoulders, as Modi has stated.

Swami Dayanand was a religious figure who lived in Haryana and was born in Gujarat. “his teachings have shaped my perspective, and his legacy remains an integral part of my journey,” the Prime Minister said, referring to Swami Dayananda’s deep influence on his life. He also acknowledged the profound influence that Swami Dayananda had on his life.

He brought attention to the role that social reformers played in liberating India from the restraints of ignorance and superstition, thereby spearheading a movement to recover the core of Vedic wisdom. “In times when our traditions and spirituality were fading, Swami Dayananda called upon us to ‘Back to Vedas,'” said Prime Minister Modi, highlighting Swami’s efforts to provide scholarly commentaries on the Vedas and rational readings of the texts.

The British authorities used the social problems that we perpetrated as a tactic to portray us as being of lower social standing. There were many who defended the British rule by pointing to the changes in society. It was the arrival of Swami Dayananda that delivered a significant blow to these machinations.

He stated that the founder of the Arya Samaj provided a rational explanation on the Vedas, publicly opposed the preconceptions of orthodoxy, and described what the true nature of Indian philosophy is. It was as a consequence of this that people’s confidence began to return to society. People began to get familiar with the Vedic religion and began to engage with its teachings, as the Prime Minister of India stated.

Following this, the Prime Minister said, “Arya Samaj was a significant influence on the development of a number of revolutionary figures, including Lala Lajpat Rai, Ram Prasad Bismil, and Swami Shraddhanand.” Consequently, Dayananda Ji was not only a guru of the Vedic tradition, but also a sage of the national conscience.

Prime Minister Modi made the following statement in recognition of the vast network of Arya Samaj institutions that are located all over the world: “With over 2,500 schools, colleges, and universities, and more than 400 gurukuls educating students, Arya Samaj is a vibrant testament to modernity and guidance.”

Within the context of the 21st century, he asked the community to assume the burden of nation-building projects with fresh zeal. In his statement, the Prime Minister referred the Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) institutions as “a living memory of Swamiji.” He also assured them that they will continue to be empowered.

Swami Dayanand was a feminist who pushed for gender equality in society throughout his time period. He placed an emphasis on the rights of women and the active engagement of women. Currently, the nation is making progress in the empowerment of women, as stated by Modi, thanks to the implementation of new policies and authentic efforts.”Only a few short months ago, the nation passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which made it possible for women to be reserved seats in the Lok Sabha and in state legislative assemblies. The Prime Minister continued by saying that this would be an appropriate way to pay honor to Maharishi today.

Additionally, he encouraged students who were enrolled in the DAV educational network to participate in “Mera Yuva Bharat,” which is an independent organization that was founded by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with the intention of empowering the youth of the nation.
